Grace Dieu Priory - Engagement

Kasia and David booked me as a wedding photographer for their wedding in July this year at Bradgate Park. I always offer engagement sessions in the wedding package, it allows us to get to know each other better and also allows couples to get used to and be relaxed in front of my lens. Then during the wedding they know that they do not have to worry about me and where you are relaxed and socialized with your guests.
We went to Grace dieu priory, a very atmospheric and historic place. Grace Dieu was founded in 1235 as an Augustinian nunnery, and was dissolved by Henry VIII in 1538. The site is surrounded by earthworks that suggest fish ponds and is known for its resident ghost (s). Terrible 🙂
Below are some of my favourite photos, click on the photo to go to full screen.

The site became a romantic ruin, frequented by artists and poets. One famous visitor the Grace Dieu was poet Wiliam Wordsworth, who stayed at nearby Coleorton Hall, who wrote poignantly about the ‘ivied ruins of forlorn Grace Dieu’.

If you are thinking of getting married and having a wedding, I would like to hear from you and be your photographer. I would like to hear about your plans. For more information contact me here.
